About Max Ingrand
Max Ingrand (1908–1969) was a celebrated French designer known for his pioneering work in stained glass, interior décor, and lighting. Trained at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts and the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris, his work combined luminous purity with architectural scale and technical innovation — earning him France’s Legion of Honour. He served as artistic director of FontanaArte from 1954 to 1964, a decade during which he produced some of the most enduring objects in 20th-century design. His lighting and glass work remain highly influential, admired by collectors and designers worldwide.
