About Charles and Ray Eames
Charles (1907–1978) and Ray Eames (1912–1988) were among the most influential designers of the 20th century. Working from their studio in Venice, California, they pioneered the use of molded plywood, fiberglass, and plastic in furniture design — producing some of the most iconic and widely recognized chairs in history. Their work for Herman Miller remains in continuous production and is held in major museum collections worldwide.
